Practice-as-research and practice-based research provide evidences of material thinking, which is simply the byproduct embodied and methodologies of discursive practice. Creative practice and research–far from being mutually exclusive–can legitimately be considered as a singularity. The dance, creative writing,visual art and music are transformative, contemplative and discursive practices. Each feeds into the other; each medium speaks in the voice of another, through the voice another. Embodied scholarship and sensory ethnography can thus yield deepened insight concerning fields of the cultural studies, cognitive sciences, and critical theory.
