For a long time orphans in Zimababwe have been one of the most underpriviledged groups. The advent of HIV/AIDS has necessitated the creation of an organization such as ndini wako. The greatest number of orphans are in rural communities. In 2004 it was estimated that Zimababwe had 700,000 HIV/AIDS orphans, infected and affected by the virus. This situation was aggravated by the draught which put a strain on already meagre rescources. The orphan situation is one that is self propagating.
The idea is to raise funds for the education of the children using the Arts. Zimabwean art is characterized by its inimitable vernacular. ndini wako harnesses the creative prowess of Zimbabwean art in its entirety and channel it towards the aspirations of this philanthropic endeavor.

The children at school assembly
ndini wako was started as a response to needs of the children. We chose to begin in the Gutu region because of our familiarity with it. We are sponsoring and supporting children materially and psychosocially. The children will not only engage in the regular educational system, but also be provided with counselling and empowerment workshops. The project co-ordinator, Mr. Nyemba maintains a close relationship with the school head, Ms. Mufandaedza to assess the progress of the children and ensure their well-being.The average cost of sending a single child to school for a full year is just US$250.00. (For more information please contact us.) The money recieved from the creative projects and donations, is channeled to these expenses. Examples of previous work and information on the organisation are yours to view on this site.
